I didn't think it was supposed to be released until 3/15...but I just came from Gamestop during my lunch break and they had a shit ton of them that they were already selling. Is this wide spread or is this shop just fucking up?

IGN.com said the game isn't supposed to come out until March 15. They even caught hell for running their review a month before the game was to be released.

I'd bet they were 'dummy' boxes. We recently got some playable demos here but the full game should be 3/15.

Are you sure they weren't giving people the Demo that Pre-ordered the game?

No it was the real copies...and there were dozens of them with the price tag too.

Well, you should have bought it and sold it on Ebay. You'd be rich. What they're doing is a total violation of their agreement and they'd have to be idiots to sell it, not to mention they'll get sued to the stone age. Not to mention Sony hasn't shipped any copies yet. I'm not being a prick, but I HIGHLY doubt they had any actual copies. The Gamestop I was at tonight had rows and rows of the game boxes...with what look like price tags of them but were actually stickers that said "Coming soon 3-15" AND everyone who pre-ordered was being given a demo copy when I was there.

At the gamestop I work at we have not only 3 different "dummy boxes", we also give away a demo for the game when someone preorders it.

Could that be it?

PS Also we put price tags on the dummy boxes too.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. IF somehow you did get copies in store already wouldn't you be in deep shit with Sony for selling them already?

Doubtful. Street dates get broken all the time and it's not often that the companies do anything about it. Gamestop themselves would be the more likely to do something to an employee that broke a street date.

Well, with videogames yeah street dates may get broken by a day or two at most. From my experience MOST videogames ship a day or two before the street date...not weeks. DVDs and CDs do but having worked for Target and Best Buy I know full well what can happen if you try to sell a DVD a week before the street date. I remember asking my boss at Target if I could pay him in advance for a copy of the Indiana Jones box set and take it home three weeks before it hit the shelf. You would have thought I raped his mother.
