So guys, anyone get #3? Alot of great things happened, can't wait for #4 now.

To sum the issue up: *SPOILERS*

We get a look see at Bei Bang-Wei and Iron Fist of the past fighting the British in China.

Danny suits up in his new Iron Fist suit and is on the look out to find whoever is using the Iron Fist power. He sees that a crime scene is taking place, I'm assuming in Chinatown and realizes it's the man using the Iron Fist power.

Danny soon decides to go back to Rand Corp and see if he can find anything there....Steel Serpent and Wei-Go are talking about taking down Iron Fist, and having the HYDRA soldiers take part in this plan as well.

Back at Rand Corp, Danny goes to his office and it starled by the appearance of someone there waiting for him. It's Orson Randall, and he soon tells Danny that he's been looking for him, and that they both have something in common.

Danny wastes little time, and he soon attacks Orson with his Iron Fist. Orson blocks with his Iron Fist power, and both just keep fighting. The fight between the two was so awesome. Orson delivers this head butt to Danny that was so cool, lol. as both are fighting, Orson tells Danny that he looks like Danny's father, only to soon reveal that Orson knew Danny's father, and that he taught him everything he knew!

#3 was a great issue, and I'm looking forward to what else Orson tells Danny. As well as the two Iron Fists teaming up.

Overall:

The art once again impresses, Iron Fist's new suit looked awesome, the writing was great and the story is continuing to be great. I loved the ending.

What did you guys think?

why were there three different artists involved?

Each artist had a purpose in the issue.

David Aja, as we all know, is the regular artist for the book. His art in #3 was just so cool. Travel Foreman, since #1 has been doing art for the past Iron Fists, and in this issue an artist drew a couple pages showing us just how far Orson was an Iron Fist. That artist was Russ Heath.

why were there three different artists involved?

They had one for the ancient Iron Fist intro, Aja for the current story, and then a guy for the WWI Ironfist story.

All in all, the art on this book is great. Aja is an amazing new talent (new?).

Is he slow though? I thought he was relatively fast. Maybe I'm thinking of Lark.

it seemed to me that those two women in the hydra pages turned into cranes. that was odd and very clever.

the layouts on that page as well as the page where danny flipped and swung from the rooftop were awesome.

Yeah, those two women were shown in #1 and they did the same thing in #3.

Anyone else get #3?

This issue wasn't as good as the last 2.We have Danny rooftop hopping all the way up to the end scene talking to himself about what he's going to do and what's going on in his life.Alot of what he says is fairly obvious and IMO didn't really need to be explained.

Yeah, they did it towards the end of the issue when they met Orson.

Word. Brubaker and Fraction have done an excellent job with this book. With Steel Serpent in this issue, I think it's him on the cover to #4.

Aja's panel layouts are simply amazing. The art in the book really flows. Bru and Fraction are telling a really good story and you can tell that they really like the character.

Has the fact that Orson's last name, Randall, is very close to Danny's last name, Rand?

Could Danny's father have shortened his original family name from Randall to Rand at some point? Could Danny and Orson be related?

yeah. the crane page was amazing, really the kind of storytelling that goes so far beyond what you expect from a typical comic.

It is possible that Danny and Orson could be related. With Orson revealing he knew Danny's father and all, who knows, anything is possible. 8-)

Here's a nice review I found for #3. :D

The Immortal Iron Fist #3 (Marvel; review by Koben Kelly): Opening with the introduction of Bei Bang-Wen, the Iron Fist of 1860, this third issue does not disappoint. Fraction and Bru keep things bubbling for Danny Rand. After being drained by the usage of the Fist by someone else last issue, our man Dan goes looking for the source of his pain. Aja’s scenes of Rand jumping and flipping around town are brilliant. When the two actually meet, what almost turns into a typical hero meets hero fistfight becomes something of a revelation. Peppered into the main story is a flashback to an earlier Fist’s days of whores and opium, illustrated by an alternate artist. So, just what IS the deal with the naked stork-girls, anyway? As always, Hollingsworth’s colors seal the deal. Full of originality and energy, this series is easily predicted to last a long time by yours truly.

Great review!
