alright, so my dumb ass dropped this title a little while back.
Can you guys help me figure out when I dropped it so I can pick up from where I left off?
here's what I remember from the very last issue I read... I think:
everyone stuck in a prison, there is a new girl who had 2 zombie slaves and she hooked up with one of the guys who had a girlfriend, they solved the murders of the girls, Rick's hand got all jacked up from beating the guy who did it...
err... that's about when I dropped it.
So, which issue should I start up from again do you think?

Start up with the one after the one you dropped.
Cause it gets a little too cluster-fucked with new characters and situations if you just start back with #34

Sounds like that was around issue #19. I'd say start off with #20 or find the next trade in the run.

that's why I'm asking which number it was because I want to pick up where I left off, not pick up current one and be lost.

hmmm... I agree with the trades suggestion then. It would be rather costly grabbing all of those singles you missed again....

unless you're a real snob for continuity, I'd say just pick up the most recent issue-- That's what I've been doing lately, it's kind of like missing a few episodes of a TV show, when you pop back in you won't be TOTALLY lost...
(Yes, even w/ Lost)
True, you might have missed a few things here or there, but writers (esp. Kirkman) are pretty good about recapping the major plot points w/ a throwaway line of dialog or two. ("Hey, remember when we went to the moon and got that ancient artifact? I think THAT'S what Dr.Crisis is using to control the weather!")
The last issue seemed to end w/ a good cliffhanging/Jump on point as well...
I'd say just start picking it up again...

Do you remember the cover? Then looking here might help:
http://www.mycomicshop.com/megastore/search?pcat=Comics%2DAll&til=25658
There are small plot synopsises (is that a word?) on most of the issues, too ... thought those stopped around the issue you dropped the book. :-?

I think if you pick up the last trade, you'll be good.
