It's not the clip I was looking for (I was looking for the Hotdog song from Straight to Hell) but it is the right actor (not Estevez) and it does fit in well with the mood this morning.

I don't think I ever fully realized that I had gone this many years without ever having seen that flick.

For some reason, my favorite line from that movie has always been:
Debbi: Duke, let's go do some crimes.
Duke: Yeah. Let's go get sushi and not pay.
Hee hee! :D

You know, I don't think I've ever made it through any Estevez movie. His brother, yes (and I deeply regret it) but not ol' Emilio.
BTW, Living In Oblivion by Anything Box or a remake makes great listening while surfing boards...

he was in MI? Huh. That's one of the two Tom Cruise movies I've seen and I don't remember him. And Breakfast Club? Anything with Molly Ringworm in it I've tried everything (short of an ice pick) to get out of my brain...

Yeah, it's not really a Steven Seagal movie. It's a movie with Steven Seagal in it. It's like calling Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves a Patrick Stewart movie.

This analogy cracks me up. Then again the seven or eight bottles of scottish ale may also have a factor in that.

I meant Wobin of Woxwy.
Would it have killed him to have taken some speech classes? And was Alan Rickman even making the same movie as everyone else? I still remember half the theater laughing as they realized Christian Slater's arrow-stricken hand was suddenly magically bandaged and the bandage kept switching hands. Just... goddamnit. Robin Hood is such good fodder for a film and there's that thing fucking it up for everybody for another 20 years at least.

You mean how as a writer that fecker is a slam dunk of a plot and those morons found an actor to cock it up?

I've heard nothing but great words about that film. Bought it weeks ago and have yet to manage to watch it.

LMS is good and funny. Not as good and funny as hollywood seems to be making it out to be. Definite 1.

Everone in my family and most of my friends insisted I had to watch this movie. Some even said there was a character in it that reminded them of me. I demanded an apology from them and gave the DVD away the day after watching it. Steven Grant put it best when he wrote 'Finally, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, which is this year's beneficiary of what I call the Sundance Syndrome, being the independent film everyone's raving up - if nothing else it'll now be known as the sleeper that blew DREAMGIRLS out of the Oscar running for best picture - as if it's a watershed in the history of film, when it's really pretty much frilly crap. At least it's got decent acting and some funny lines, but it's also got nothing but totally self-absorbed, deluded characters you just want to punch, who we're supposed to feel superior to and identify with in the same breath. But it sure is heartwarming, with a big feelgood ending that pretty much ignores that all the characters remain in dead ended, desperate lives.'
Get the feeling I really hated this movie? I keep flashing back to it during discussions of other movies. I really need to see a better movie to get that one out of my mind.

Sounds like it hit a little too close to home. Are you stuck in a dead ended, desperate life?

I'm content. Except for my clinical depression flaring up and my writing not going as well I'd like, I'm way better off than any character in that movie. It probably could have used some Estevez.
