just finished watching a history chanel show on cannibals and it got me thinking, if you were in a dire situation, plane crash in the andes, snowed in on a mountain pass, etc, and faced death by starvation, would you eat the flesh of those who didn't make it in order to survive?

i believe i would. the human survival instinct is pretty strong and i imagine that at some point i'd just have to do what needs to be done.

i also believe that if i survived an was rescused, i'd be haunted by my actions for the rest of my life. damn catholic guilt, even when you don't believe anymore, it never completely goes away.

But then you'd turn into a Windigo...no one wants that.

Yes, I would.

I'd have to wait until I was REALLY hungry though.

I ate the pilot in mid-flight once just to find out the answer.

Any good?

No turbulence, but crazy indigestion.

As long as it wasn't someone I knew.

Then I'd get all crazy addicted to "white pig" and start hunting the homeless upon my eventual rescue.

It'd turn into a whole big thing.

It's "long pig" not "white pig".

My dear fellow, Canada is not a place. Canada is a state of mind.

I had so many replies to this post.

I thought "Gay joke? Nah."

"Cracker joke? Nah."

"Gay cracker joke? Nah."

I settled on candid glimpse into the inner workings of my mind.

I was raised Catholic too. That's why cannibalism to live doesn't phase me... we had eucharist every mass.

I'd be reciting lines from Silence Of the Lambs; to, you know, liven up the mood. And if there's a cute girl survivor I'll be sure to remind her that semen contains protein. I will blame it all on some hypothermia-induced hysteria once we get back.

If that's what it tasted like, I could deal. It'd be really creepy if it tasted like chicken.
