View Full Version : Having just started watching Dr. Who
I now want to name our second kid, if my wife gets pregnant again, Dalek Tardis H(lastname withheld).
I actually really like Dr. Who. I had never seen it before, but got the Chris Eccleston series with my Christmas bonus because I heard really good things.
With just two episodes left to watch I'm going to be sad to see Chris leave (definately watching them tonight).
So far the best episode(s) so far are THE EMPTY CHILD and THE DOCTOR DANCES. That whole story was so creepy, but there were jokes, and the end brought a huge smile to my face. It was fantastic.
I probably won't get the David Tennant season until after the NYCC, but I can't wait to watch it.
Any word on when season 3 will start on Sci-Fi?

The David Tennant episodes are (mostly) excellent. The classic series is pretty fun too.

"RUN! Don't drop the banana!" "Why!?" "Good source of potasium!" Was the funniest thing I've see all of last year. But my favorite episode was the lone Dalek in the underground base. Dave Eccellestestesonnon turned in a REALLY good performance. I could FEEL his hatred for the Daleks.
Good show, not sure I'd name my kid after weird, made up words.

Yeah, but there is decades worth of stuff to watch, and I'd have no idea where to begin. That's why I like the new series because it was off the air for a while and came back all new.

The first Doctor, William Hartnell, is a crotchety old man and has a granddaughter Susan.

Either that one or the last episode are my favorites. I won't say what happens in it, but I'm sure you'll like it, Shaun of the Doug.

Tom Baker was considered the definitive Doctor, but David Tennant is giving him some good competition. I remember watching Doctor Who on Saturday afternoons on my local PBS channel. I only remember Tom Baker, the 4th Doctor.

Early Tom Baker stuff is the strongest of all the series, IMHO.

Hopefully the new new Dr. Who will be better than Tennant

Yeah, Simon Pegg playing a bad guy was pretty sweet earlier in the season, and I hear tell that Tony Head plays a bad guy in Tennant's first season.
I'm really excited to watch the final two episodes tonight.

I meant the new new actor playing Dr. Who. to me Tennant is the new Dr. Who, and this guy from Trainspotting is the new new Who.

Where did you get that information about this guy from Trainspotting is the new new Who. I have heard nothing about that. Personally, I like Eccleston and Tennant about the same. To the OP, if you like Eccleston's acting, you might be interested to know that he is appearing in NBC's "Heroes" right now.

I Love Eccelston but Tennant is good.
And Tennant said he will be the Doctor for as long as they let him. So I see him as the Doctor for at least 3 more Seasons.

I love Tennant, best of the bunch easily.
Eccleston does 'damaged-but-getting-on' really well where Tennant has taken it a step further, bringing real joy and intensity to the role. The guy was born to play him.
WANT MORE!

Tom Baker is the only Doctor that matters.
