I have a couple non-comic reading friends that are all colors of jacked to see Sin City. One has started borrowing the trades from a friend and loves them, and the other's ready to start turning pages, too.

Anyone else have friends that want to see the movie but have no prior knowledge of Miller's greatness? It'd be interesting to see how this movie impacts the non-comic public... more than Spider-Man or X-Men, I could see this movie appealing to a lot of people who don't read comics.

Yes, a lot of gamers that come to the store plan to see the movie. They however, can barely read, so they'd rather see movies than read the comics.
Somehow they can master games with three inch Spidermen, but can't manage reading, go figure.

Yep.

An added bonus is that the theater a friend of mine manages is getting SIN CITY so we're going to watch it a couple days before the premiere.

My non-comic reading friend went to see it with me yesterday, and today he wants to pick up some of the trades.

That's phenomenal!

I haven't even been pushing it that hard - at all, really - and a couple of the guys are really fired up to engage in its badass-ness.

Gotta love it.

I'm jealous XD

And yes, I have tons of friends excited about the movie without caring much for comic books.

One of my co-workers is jacked to see it, and knows nothing of comics.

I showed her some Miller SC art off a fansite, though... she was all ooh and aah.

one of my friends had never read a comic since he was a kid and i handed him Sin City last year. now he owns all the Sin City trades. he's not a card carrying member like us nerds, but he reads some comics from time to time. but he is indeed very excited about the movie. he lives in Orlando and i in Tampa, but we're actually making the trip to one or the other's city to see the movie together.

and before you ask: No, we will not be having butt sex after the movie.

Most of my friends from school last year are excited for it and the world of comics is oblivious to them. I don't think they even know it's based off of a comic....

I was talking to a guy today who didn't realise it was a comic. He asked me if I'd seen the trailer for the latest Robert Rodríguez movie and said it looked really good, literally film noir.
