Dead at 89. I don't have any more information. Maki found it on a Japanese news site, and the US feeds haven't picked it up yet. Interestingly, Wikipedia's been updated already.

I used to read all his books.

I knew he did 'Hart to Hart' and "I Dream of Jeannie", but I didn't realise he was involved in films and plays, too.
