The Bendis run already reads like Daredevil: the End. Seriously though, sounds good to me; I'd definitely buy it...

who is gonna draw it though, i assume janson and sienkiewicz are gonna ink...
It couldn't be Miller right?

Sounds right to me. That would have to be the huge project and I can't think of a better writer to do it then Bendis.

Oh God, Bendis and Mack writing with Frank Miller pencilling, Jansen, and Sienkiewicz inking Daredevil: The End would be the greatest comic book ever made.

I hope it's a good run, like eight to ten issues.
And I'd like to see Matt NOT die in this. Just because it's the end doesn't mean he has to die. I think he's the one comic character that I would hate to see "die."
I can't wait :)

I hope this is true, as it gives relevance to the The End series by having Bendis involved. With Stan Lee and John Romita Jr. doing an upcoming FF: The End thing, despite Alan Davis already doing one (which is awesome!), I guess it doesn't crush the dream of Frank Miller and David Mazzuccelli coming back to do a Dark Knight Returns thing for Daredevil.
I think there is a lor of sales potential with a line like this.
I never read Wolverine: The End. Didn't hear great things, but I like Jenkins and the artist is soooo influenced by John Buscema.
Hulk: The End. Never read it... Despite loving Dale Keown as a top 5 artist, I have never seen this. Argghhhh! PAD and Keown were a great choice. Should have been more than just a one shot.
X-Men: The End. This was a trilogy of 6 issues a piece. I'm not the biggest fan of Sean Chen, so I skipped it. Byrne and Austin should have been with Claremont for these. JQ and JB, sometimes a grudge isn't worth it.
Marvel Universe: The End. I love Starlin. Obviously, I wasn't collecting comics that I missed some of these. I would have tried this. Was it any good?
Iron-Man: The End. David Michelinie and Bob Layton are coming back, and I hope they have either Barry Windsor-Smith, John Romita Jr., or John Byrne drawing it.
I'd love to see a 12 part Thor: The End by Simonson. A Captain America: The End drawn by Mike Zeck. A Spider-Man: The End would be a great return for Todd.

Wow, Sean Chen is pretty solid artist. I thought quite the opposite, Sean Chen was the good part about X-Men: the End; you may agree if you actually read it: Claremont's stuff just is not what it used to be...

This was reprinted just a few months ago as part of Giant Size Hulk. It was pretty good. Punisher: The End, which you didn't mention, was also great.

Would a "The End" book count as in continuity? Aren't they pretty much "What If" type stories?

IMO, no. Might just be that it wasn't the sort of story I wanted to read though. If you like Starlin and Thanos, might be worth a try.
I like the idea of The End, but I haven't yet liked one I've read to be honest. Punisher didn't do anything for me and the X-Men was wayyyyyy too stuck in mentioning everything in X-Men history IMO.

Really disagree with this. Well maybe not "death" but it seems you don't want it to end badly for Matt. I don't either but I think it's something that has to happen.
According to Miller Stick is pretty adament about Matt playing superhero because it's only gonna hurt him. Matt should suffer badly. He should die alone and his powers should drive him insane in his old age. I think he should put Wilson Fisk to rest but end up getting buried by Bullseye, who regardless of the intent he has irresponsibly let walk away way too many times. It should all come back and bite him in the ass. Daredevil's the best character for tragic hero stories that's why he's so popular.
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself...

i disagree. the minute that matt physically can't be daredevil i think he will stop. he doesn't HAVE to do it. He might never settle down with one woman, but i see him retiring (from superheroics) when the time is right

i just don't think it HAS to end in tragedy for Matt. someone like iron man, i think will always be looking for the thrill and it will kill him. i don't see that with DD

It has nothing to do with the costume though. You think Matt can just get away from everything once he takes off the red leather? He made a decision that's gonna haunt him forever. And you're right. It doesn't HAVE to end tragically but it should.

After all he's been through, and he's been through more than any other hero, Matt deserves something nice.

Makes sense. But I've always hated "The End" books. It seems like they're just trying over and over again to make the next "Last Days of Superman" (best Supes story IMO) or "Kingdom Come" Some of them will end up bombing. Doubt it'll be this one, though.

Something I just thought of.
In this week's New Joe Fridays Quesada mentioned that they'd announce the details of the project at the New York Comic Con. Mack and Sienkiewicz are scheduled to attend.

Whatever the Bendis/Mack DD project is, it had better have Gene Colan attached to is in some way.

It's mentioned on the most recent podcast by Mack and Bendis - they're getting art in as it comes in, given the various artists' busy schedules. Still a go, though.

So, has Bendis already written all of the issues yet and only the art has to be finished, or what's the current status of the project?
I hope it'll be contained in the second Bendis/Maleev-Omnibus along with the What if Karen Page had lived issue.
whenever it's done it's done.
