love this...and mix master mike seriously believes he's communicating with alien life forms, and qbert is just ridiculously talented and the friggarshaggar show with all 4 of the invisibles going off at the same time, and...oh fuck this is just a great document of an incredibly expressive art form.

There is another great one on that site about the history of grafitti -it was shot in the late 70's or early 80's. I *think* its called STYLE WARS, but I might be wrong.
Not what you'd expect, and totally facinating, even for me -someone who HATES grafitti. And while I still hate it I gained a new appreciation for the art that goes into some of it.

I've watched this recently, about... 3 months ago?
It made me miss seeing all the break dancers I used to see around town about a decade ago who still lingered on after the 80's  I seriously love break dancers.

LOL, well hate is a strong word. The big mural pieces are amazing. And some of the smaller stuff too.
But when some shithead tags a panel truck, or somebody's fence that's just bullshit. You're fucking with some other person's stuff and costing them money -that's just bad karma.
And since most tagging (which should probably be in a seperate caragory) has almost zero artistic value it pisses me off even more.

Tagging is the human equivalent to territorial pissings. So - we agree there.
But seriously, some the larger works are simply some of the most amazing art you could ever hope to see. The city here has devoted space along a river walk across from a foot bridge that is "the" space for artists. It is so beautiful to look at all of the color and design.

I agree. Not to defend it but there is an actual art to even tagging but most kids these days do not take the time to learn their stroke.
Public walls, abandoned buildings, under and over passes are cool to paint but private property for any real garph artist is always a no no..
